Vasilios N. Tsolakis was born in Tirnavos, where he finished primary and secondary education.

He is an Architectural Engineer with a degree in Architectural Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki,

In 1967, he began his professional activities in Larisa, where he worked freelance until 2007, and was involved in various projects in both the public and private sector.

The history of Olympiotissa Monastery is fascinating and appealing at the same time, as it extends to every aspect of Greek history. Upon the hill where the monastery is built, beneath mythical Mount Olympus, narratives from the ancient times, Byzantium and the Ottoman Era have reached until the modern era of the Greek free civilization. Due to its large fortune possessed for long historic periods of time, the monastery was a prime source of employment and of food supplies for the less fortunate people. It has been for centuries a spiritual lighthouse and a guardian of the Metropolis of Elassona, as well as a place of pilgrimage throughout the wider region.
