Il monastero di San Nicola Anapausas (o Anapafsas), è un edificio a più piani costruito sul lato est di una bassa roccia. È un piccolo monastero che sembra essersi attaccato sulla cima della roccia e si innalza verso il cielo.
Esistono due versioni del nome Anapausas, la prima si riferisce al nome del fondatore del monastero, ma secondo quella più prevalente il monastero ha preso questo nome perché è considerato un luogo adatto al riposo mentale.
